This was mine, and the most beautiful drum set. Sold it about six years ago, now I wish that I hadn't. Absolutely pristine Leedy Red Ripple.

My God, I'll bet you are kicking yourself every day for selling those. I just scored a blue sparkle '65 Leedy set; 12, 14 and 20."

You picked up a great set! I shouldn't have sold mine: I just don't know why...I didn't play out with this set, I was always afraid that it would get damaged. But it sounded great, even the snare had a great sound.

Does anyone own a green sparkle 30s/40s Leedy set? I've never seen a full set online, only snares!

Saw this thread and thought I"d post a photo of my 'new' 1938 WMP Leedy Parallel which I received last week in the mail from the US. It's my wife's gift to me for our 28th wedding anniversary! 8"x14" with engraved hoops and in great overall condition. As you can see from the photos, the wrap has detached slightly in a couple of locations and I think that this is because someone used heads that were too tight but I have replaced them with Aquarian Vintage heads which are a looser fit. I normally look for drums to restore but this one was so lovely I couldn't resist it. Oh, and it sounds great too!

1920s 14"x5" Ludwig Super Sensitive Dual Snare
1957 6 1/2" x15" Slingerland WMP Concert King
1938 8"x15" Leedy Broadway Standard
1947-53 14x6.5" NOB Ludwig & Ludwig Universal
...plus a bunch of mismatched Slingerlands that collectively make a pleasing noise.

Just a lucky spot on EBay. It was love at first sight!

2 of my faves 20/12/12/16 light blue pearl and 20/13/16 natural mahogany teamed up with a killer 6.5" x 14" mahogany (blury) snare.

Keep fixing them up...
