If you are looking for a collectors grade kit, No. Tom mounts and floor tom legs are wrong as well as the post mount on the kick. Standards dont command the money of the higher end kits. It would be a geat player but I would have to get it much cheaper.
For $600 it should all be correct! That is a super nice wrap though in my opinion and they will sound like a million bucks.
Thanx fellas,
i also noticed that the 12" tom is painted white and the rest are granitone.
Whats up with that? (thought grani came much later)
I'ld go $400 on that kit and feel very good about it.
I was thinking $450.00, but I wasn't sure about that badges' value. They look like nice drums, though.
Good luck.

same quality 3 ply shells as the top of the line classics. they should sound great. get 'em if you want 'em.

Ludwig was known to do stuff like that. The shells will be of the same construction, just finished differently. Through most of the 60s, Ludwig used white interiors. Changed to clear maple in late 68/69. Came out with the Standard line in 68 with the granitone interiors, then went to granitone interiors on all in about 71, 72. But, there was always some "overlap" in their transitional periods. I hope that made sense...
IMO, $600 is a little steep since they have been modified. But if you like 'em enough and the seller won't come down, I'd go along with Mike on this one. Nice sounding drums!

GreggG,
Many of the early Standards had Resocoat interiors, so this set having one does not indicate anything improper. Granitone seems to start showing up on Standards in about 1969. Sets with mixed interior finishes are not uncommon.
I am interested in learning the serial numbers and date stamps from these drums, if you can share them. I recently completed a paper on Ludwig Standards that presents a dating guide and other information about this often overlooked line of drums. I am always looking for more data to improve this effort.
The guide is available here ( http://www.gretschdrumdatingguide.com/ludwig-serial-number-dating-projects.html - scroll down about 1/3 of the way for the link ) for anyone that is interested. It is subject to revision as more information is gathered.
