The Suffers on Letterman

Loading...

I hope this thread is acceptable... A former band member of mine (bass player) will be performing with his band The Suffers tonight on the Letterman show. This is a great band from Houston, TX and they capture a good 60's soul vibe! So.. not vintage drum related, but vintage soul related! LoLoLoLo

Here's a couple of youtube clips of them:

A perfect storm of music! I agree with GG, great instrumentation and lead singer. I love working with horns. It adds balls to the music that you can't get any other way. Great rhythm section! Thanks for sharing.

I hope they break a leg on Letterman.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Correct me if Im wrong but there seems to be a great resurgence in American soul music at the moment and Letterman is doing a great job at helping it along by giving these great up and coming acts exposure. Love him or hate him, the man needs to be given kudos here. Just recently Ive seen Alabama shakes, vintage trouble and now this all on Letterman. If this continues ill be happy as a pig in s*%t.

Thanks for posting that. Looks like a band I would like to see. The closest they will be to NH is the Newport Folk Festival in RI in July, but that's close enough to consider it.

They were very good and gave their congo player a smokin' solo. Van Halen were playing on Kimmel at the same time and I was not impressed.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed them!

I did record and catch Van Halen on Kimmel. The band was great!!! .. David Lee Roth, not so much..

Here's the Suffers performance on Letterman:

I'm hoping that this band goes far! They are all nice, humble folks that have a wonderful sound and energy to them!
