That's actually a cut-down Standard kick in Blue Mist. I made that for my wife several years ago for Xmas and we still keep it on display.

To be perfectly honest, back then, I didn't care what kind of drums were used. I was too busy watching Susan Dey as Laurie! Brian

Salty got it right. How bout some pics of Susan.

Thank you!

As a 10 year-old, I was always focused on the drums when watching the Partridge Family or the Monkees. I remember a few different sets on the Partridge Family including a 5-piece red sparkle set with the reso heads removed (as we were all doing in the late '60s). Couldn't find a clear picture of this set, so Laurie Partridge/Susan Dey is added as a bonus, as she was the other focus of every boy's attention.

Jeez, FatherTime, I guess that now that I'm older, I can appreciate your point of view. I understand what you're saying about older women. There is much to be said about maturity. On the other hand, Laurie was one boy's ultimate fantasy!!! Man, I would have given my paper route money for.......sorry. I still think Susan Dey was HOT!!!

Just a drummer who loves all things about vintage drums! Nothing more, nothing less.

aw, the partridge family. brings back so many childhood memories. this was my favorite show growing up and always dreamed this would be my family as a family band.

even as a kid i knew they were not actually playing their instruments and always wondered who was behind the curtain.

Really? I can't tell. However, maybe that was why my first kit was a red sparkle Stewart!

Maybe.

PS - Robyn, are you married to one of The Wiggles?

Why, Hal Blaine and the Wrecking Crew, no? The backing vocals I forget who did them. Shirley Jones and a studio group of voices. Forget the name.

Loved that episode about Sea World and the captive whale. Shirley's lone solo vocal song too, I believe. Still a relevant episode today. Let wild animals be wild :)
