And since we're talikng about drumming terminology, I'll throw a question:
How many different words for single parts of drumkit do English-speaking drummers use?
Because in Czech, for example, there are at least 6 names I know for snare drum alone (you probably wouldn't find them in dictionary, but anyway...):
-malý buben (small drum)
-virbl (drum roll)
-rytmičák (rythm guy)
-esák ("S" guy)
-céčko ("C")
-střeďák (middle guy)
And around four names for bass drum and for toms...
