Watching The Beatles special on CBS... getting nostalgic, but also thinking how old I'm getting! Remember this night 50 years ago, almost like it was just last week!

Not quite, 'last week,' but yeah, I remember. Ed Sullivan was always a 'family TV night' thing. I remember sitting on the floor two feet away from the screen so I could hear the music better and have the best viewing seat in the house! The Beatles coming to America was a cultural event of huge proportions.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

My life changed that night. They are the most significant group of most of our lives. They changed music, culture, Politically and fashionably. Had my 1st guitar that December. and my first snare drum kit the following year.

I enjoyed it overall. jeff lynne still sounds like his old recordings! joe walsh hit some notes that I didn't expect out of his vocals. there were some great performances I thought. wasn't feeling a couple of them though..

Halfway through on the West Coast and I'm enjoying it. Sure, some performances were better than others—it's hard not to rank things when there's more than one of them—but everyone's heart was in the right place.

Not really a complaint because Kenny Aronoff is a fantastic drummer, but wasn't Jim Keltner available? Nice to see Peter Frampton in the backing band.

I thought overall it was really good show. I too remember watching Ed Sullivan that night. LOL I was 6. Seeing Paul and Ringo on stage together again was watching history being made. Yes I thought Joe Walsh was very good too!! Great to see.
