The Band That Wasn't The Beatles Last viewed: 28 minutes ago

Possibly, but I try to stay away from comparing anyone to The Beatles or Buddy Rich.

I remember years ago trying to get my friend to listen to a band that had that Beatles vibe, he said, why should I listen to them when I I can just listen to The Beatles? He finally agreed and he wound up liking the band. I believe if you fall down that trap of only listening to what you perceive as being the real deal, then you're going to miss out on a lot of great music.

I don't see it as black and white, though. A preference is not an exclusionary thing. I prefer certain things above and beyond other things -same as most people.

I'm not saying a preference is an exclusionary thing, but there are some people who have a preconceived notion about almost everything.

The real band from the 60s that sounded like the beatles was

'The knickerbockers' with the song 'Lies'.

Even John Lennon himself, replied after hearing the song,

'When did we record that?'

A great tune but always thought it was Paul McCartney and Wings.

I remember Klaatu. They had like 5 albums. I have them in mp3 format. I never got into the fact that people thought they were the Beatles though. I didn’t see it.

I found this video of a band called Klaatu. Anybody remember them? Way back in the mid 70's, there was a rumour going around that they were The Beatles reunited, turns out they were a band from Canada.Anyway, it looks like the drummer is playing a Rogers kit in a wmp finish.https://youtu.be/JKW18CQri6A

Yes - something about outer space as well? Can't say I've ever listened to them.
