Just happened to run across these posts today and am a little upset that I wasn't aware that copies of "The Ludwig Book" were being ordered through VDF.
I've currently got John Aldridge's "Guide To Vintage Drums", Harry Cangany's "The Great American Drums And The Companies That Made Them, 1920-1969", and Rob Cook's fine publications "The Complete History of the Leedy Drum Company", "The Rogers Book -Second Edition", "The Slingerland Book" and "The Slingerland Book - Second Edition". The publication that I don't have but very much want to pick up is Rob Cook's "The Ludwig Book". Apparently I must have been taking some sort of extended "nap" while everyone else was putting in their orders!
As the saying goes, "you snooze, you lose!"
I've found all of the publications extremely interesting and informative.
If anyone's got an extra copy of "The Ludwig Book" please let me know.
David & TommyP: I would also like to express my thanks for all of your help, your time and your guidance since I joined the forum. You've been extremely cordial and professional and I truly appreciate everything you've both done for me. You've also disproved the theory that "you can't teach old dogs new tricks." This old dog has learned plenty simply by listening to the advice, recommendations, comments and feedback that you've both been kind enough to provide.
Add my name to this gratuitous chain dedicated to the Frabluous Duo that is Dave and Tommy.
I just got my package yesterday. The wife and I watched my new autographed Ludwig 100 DVD last night. Very cool.
One thing... why didn't he sign my Trixton book?:p
Your all welcome! I sent a PM to OldSchool the details of the books. Just in case anyone else wants to help out. Then the books are $20 + $5.00 shipping. That is way under the retail and I talked to Rob Cook prior to doing that.
But BIII needs to clear out some more books. Pay pal goes directly to WFLIII which I will send in a PM to any interested parties.
If you are International.
Canada cost me $9.75 for a 2lb book.
I'm not sure about other countries, but I can do International if you agree to cover the costs for shipping.
I do not ship International a lot because it requires a visit to the USPS and it takes me more time.
Last thing, the next BIII visit to the office will probably be April 17th or the 24th. So please everyone be patient if you pay. I will update everyone.
David
