I'm confused...why? Is this from the Astoria Cocktail set that mounts to the floor tom?

I ordered my 1961 Rogers set with the 8x12 tom, the ride cymbal, and snare drum all attached to the 14x20 bass drum by Swivomatic mounts. I loved it, and will probably own another configured that way before long.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

It's normal...&it was.to bad Rogers never offered 2sets of spurs on Their bass drums...

I liked this idea...(less hardware)...however with having yr toms and snare mount off the bass & positioned to the batter side,...caused the drum to tip alil...or a lot..lol.

That's why having 20" or 22" ride cymbal on the drummer's right side of the bass drum kept my bass drum from tipping. I never thought about having a second set of Swivomatic spurs installed on the bass drum. I wish that I had thought of it back in 1961 when I ordered the drums or received them from the selling dealer. I've said many times that, if the Swivo mounting plates are properly installed with no wood blow-out on the shell, it's impossible to know if they were installed at the factory, installed by the dealer who sold the drums, or owner-installed.

It's interesting that the more expensive kits shown in these catalog pages came with Camco foot pedal, hi hat and stands.

Bruce Wittet wrote this in a review that he published about the Swivomatic pedal. I ordered my first Swivo pedal with the Rogers set that got in the Summer of 1961. The Camco pedal was offered before, during, and after the Swivo pedal was introduced.

"Rogers Swiv-o-matic: Among the top 10 bass drum pedals, current or past. Still modern as the day it was new.

Designed in the late 1950s and introduced in the Rogers 1960 catalog, The Rogers Swiv-o-matic Bass Drum Pedal was the first identifiably modern pedal, meaning that it debuted all of the features we see on today’s pedals but in a lighter weight, bullet proof unit.

Thoroughly modern Swivo

The Rogers Swiv-o-matic pedal featured perks other pedals didn’t, or couldn’t, offer. It did so without heaping structure upon structure like condo upon condo in an inner city heritage property".
