Sweet Orange Sparkle MIJ Kit
Please tell me you snagged those! I love the look of this set. If you don't get them, let me know where they are. I would love to have them. Look at the sticksavers, and this is more than likely Pearl, judging from the lugs on the snare. Man, that is a sweet looking finish. Are you getting all of it, cymbals, hi-hat and other hardware?

I bought the kit for the extra slingerland snare that matches my kit so, yes I'm selling it. It came with everything, even an extra matching chrome snare. The cymbals are all MIJ and pretty beat (see "Awesomest Vintage Cymbal Ever" in the vintage cymbal section) I am selling it but I live in Portland Oregon. Where are you?

Thank you so much for posting the pics, GTSXmas! Even though I couldn't take the set off your hands I was so glad to see it in person! This is easily one of the coolest looking drum sets I've ever seen. Its in such good shape and the it sounded awesome as well. I'm mean vintage ORANGE SPARKLE!!! Bass and toms sounded really warm, lots of character, and the metal snare, even with the cheap-o original head had a great sound. I wish I could have bought it, but the basement is too full already.
I think it was a star set, but I'm not positive. I do know that whoever ends up with the set is gonna be very, very happy. And with cymbals and an extra snare!!!
NB: Sorry, but... GO LONGHORNS!!! HOOK 'EM!!!
I just took a peek at my lugs on a couple of different drums and yes, this is a Star stencil. Let's make a deal....I've got to move these Luds first, but, then after another look I would like them, if the money is right.

I grew up playing an exact same kit - my first kit. Got to love the orange sparkle! I can just imagine those toms with Remo Fiberskyns or Emperors- dig it.Sumo Dude

Very beautiful!
I just can't find even one single teeny hint that this isn't a STAR drumset.
Can you make a pic of the snare strainer?
Just for my information: are there reinforcing rings inside of the sheels?
Ralf
Agreed! I have all the same exact hardware on m y Majestics. At first I thought the one lug I could make out on the snare looked like the Pearl knock off, but then I pulled out the magnifying glass and noticed one detail that lead to the truth. The indentation on the lug runs full length, unlike the Pearl ones that are just a tiny bit different in the way they look. I'm drooling. Please, someone buy a really nice set of Luds...
