Just finished cleaning this one up.
Very nice sound for being a lowly MIJ steel snare.
I'm guessin early 70's or maybe even late 60's

I tried a black Supreme kit last night and really enjoyed it! Nice score!
Judging by the lugs and strainer, the snare is definitely into the 70's. While a fairly generic drum, these can sound good with the proper heads and tuning. Having 10 lugs is a definite plus!
Enjoy it!

I have 2 similar 8-lug stencils w/the tip strainer and a Pearl w/President lugs but the same shell and a tip strainer.I like all three alot-to me they sound much better than they are given credit for.The typical problem is bad head choices or misusing/maladjusting the tip strainer.Your drum is early-maybe 70-72 since it has a butt side adjuster.
Mines not double hung. Just a standard pressed steel butt on this one.
Only thing "special" about this one is the 10 lugs. Unusual for MIJ stencil from that time period from what I understand
edit: I did see an "Adam" brand last nite that was VERY similar to this one.
I have a very nice Supreme kit which sounds pretty good with the right heads and tuning. The snare is only an 8 lugger though. I also have seven other Star or stencils of Star...also only eight lugs.I would think that a ten hole is quite rare. I certainly could be wrong though. Nice drum! I'm about to write you a PM just in case you might be interested in parting with this. Thanks.
