Strange Drum Listings on eBay

Hi Folks. I doubt I would be the only one who noticed these listings and maybe there was a thread started on this but I can not find one.

Anyway, the person listing has several drum listings. Some cool Ludwig kits (Vistalite, Ringo BOP, Mod Orange) with low starting points but looking at the details it states "only for buy it now". They last a day and then are re-listed as a different seller! I think enough people have seen these being re-listed because bidding now goes beyond what their buy it now is but they continue to be re-listed. Some kind of scam but I can't figure out what this seller(s) is/are getting out of it. I reported to eBay but to no avail. I would like to hear what your opinions are if you have seen these. Aside from drums they list tons of other high dollar items in similar fashion. Here are couple of links..

The linked listings have been deleted, but I know what you're talking about. They're scams. I don't see how the seller is getting money out of it unless he's able to withdraw paypal funds from a dummy account before ebay realizes it's a scam.

And over and over it goes. They will re-list as a "different" seller within 24 hours. I don't see how they make up all these user ID's with feedback.

Perhaps his accounts sell/buy with each other.

Good luck getting Ebay to remove fishy listings. A bunch of us on a guitar forum discovered a very obvious Chinese fake "Gretsch" guitar for sale on Ebay that was being passed off as authentic. I called Ebay's customer service and told them I was a guitar dealer with years of experience (not a lie, really) and that guitar was a fake. I got a manager on the phone and told him I would personally open a case with the BBB against Ebay for selling counterfeit merchandise if they didn't take it down. It was gone in fifteen minutes, but they fought me on it for almost that long. The conversation got heated, but they finally acquiesced to their credit.

I’ve reported a few of those listings.

They hijack the account of a real person so they have everything looking legit.

Is this the same scammer that lists the Ludwig stainless set on ebay for $19.60 with free shipping? He does not want any bids placed, only to click on the link in his listing that leads you elsewhere for payment...

I would hope that no one would be that gullible to fall for that one!!

Cheers

It could also be someone building up a fake batch of positive reviews, in preparation for a later scam.
