Stick Saver Hoops- best place to buy?

Loading...

Any help would be great. I am refurbishing a 1960-1962 solid maple shell Slingerland snare with 8-lugs(top and bottom). Found just this Blue Sparkle shell last weekend with no cracks and is perfectly in round for $200.

Will post pics at some point.

Thanks,

I've found three places that carry them, all being reproductions that are chrome over steel. Explorers drums seems to be the cheapest, but their shipping rates seem high. Drumsonsale is a little higher, but their shipping is more reasonable. Also, drummaker.com has them, but lately I've found their service to be lacking and they seem to be having backorder issues as well.

Hope this helps....

I've never dealth with them before, but maybe other members have. You won't have any issues with the product itself, as the ones I mentioned above are made by the same company as the ones offered on that site. They are all Worldmax reproductions. I would go with whoever has the best price and shipping rate.

Ordered Stick Saver Hoops and Slingerland lugs from them and I can highly recommend them.

I just checked every site mentioned on here for stick saver size 14" 6 hole snare rims. Could not find any! Am I not looking carefully? Anyone else have this problem?

I never found any when I was on the search a few months ago.

I found some on eBay eventually.

I ordered repro's from drummaker and did not like the look. They don't have the beef on the sides at the holes. Just my opinion but if you want it to look original then look for originals.

The new stick saver style hoops aren't exact reproductions. They have their flange turned inward over the shell, but the ears where the tension rods go through the hoop are completely flat, unlike Slingerland's. They work just fine, but they don't look exactly the same.
