Looking good Creighton. That's a cool shell with the middle re ring. Those blocks are interesting too. Never seen that. Nice you have all the hardware too. ;)
Creighton I forgot to ask.......what finish are you doing on the shells? Are you keeping them natural mahogany or going with a stain?
I love threads of this type! Thanks for the updates. What did you soak the hardware in?
Diluted CLR. Then into the vibrating rock tumbler. This is the first pass. One more than buffing wheel and should be done.
One word of caution. CLR will eat the potmetal the lugs are made of. When the bubbles stop pull parts and rinse well. Also, don't put rusty steel in with nickel plate. The dissolved rust will adhere to the nickel. Comes off but wastes time.

Great progress !
I see you have only six lugs, rods, clips.....?
Yummmm.
Pickled hardware.Falling Do
Looking good though.
Thanks!
The original bottom lugs/clips/rim were long gone. Picked up 10 chrome late style lugs. 4 will go on the bottom of the 20" bass and the rest on this tom. Not ideal but will hold me over until some decent early style nickel ones turn up.
Still short a NOB single flange rim and 10 bell clips (Hint) :-).
