Tony - Contact Bill (bfulton) he does some of the best Speed King resto's I've ever seen. Use whatever, BIll uses. I own two of his refurb pedals and they are smooth as silk and silent as death itself. Bill is 'The Man' when it comes to Speed Kings. Good guy to consult...

I have used Rust-Oleum Universal, a spray can Colour is "Silver Hammered".

Bought mine from Bunnings, I think Master's have it as well... great finish & good coverage.. (about 20 bucks) and enough for a couple of coats on 5-6 pedals.

Nice looking pedal. I notice you have changed out the footplate rivet-pin for a bolt..have you put plastic (or other) bushes in as well?

No bushings I just replace the pin so I could take it apart for cleaning and grease. I've done two of them this way pretty easy to do the original paint strips off with lacquer thinner and once I learned how to take them apart it was a piece of cake. Well worth it they are the best pedal ever made IMHO.
