That's what I saw, too. It would do better on a trade than for cash, is what I figured. He could get a much needed part or something. Might work out for him after all.

Ludwig -Dude is correct. That is a Pearl 1968-73ish hihat stand. I might be interested in it myself -but I have a bunch already- let me think about it overnight. Someone collecting Pearl kits should grab it because it `s a nice authentic stand to go with any restored early Pearl kit. I place value from 35$-65$ depending on if it `s in full working condition and has the clutch ect... That value is based on the price they are selling for on auction here and the exchange rate. Hmmm, my bad I guess. So much for the experts in my hometown.

Anyhow, I'd love to trade it for a real cymbal... if such a deal could be made. I have one old clutch, but I don't know if it goes with that stand. I also have a real Slingerland hihat stand and bass pedal and I think the clutch was on that. I got a bunch of stuff like this in '82 when the owner of the music store I worked at threw a bunch of drum hardware away... I asked if it could go from dumpster to my trunk and he agreed.

BTW, I guarantee it's in full working condition.

Mcjnic... I'll have to admit I have no clue about this vintage stuff but tell me what you have and let's chat. To give you a rough idea of things I'm looking for:

1. cymbals... always looking for cymbals.

2. 700 series Yamaha cymbal stands

3. firecracker snare

4. wood snare

5. padded cases - I may be ordering a set of gators for my stage customs.

6. wood block

Here's what I have:

1. the stand above

2. Slingerland 24" chrome wrap bass drum... complete and with extra 24" wood hoop. The 20 T-rods are all there, a couple have slight rust. The lugs are all there and shiny bright pristine. The claws are mostly good, but 2 of the 20 are not original. The Slingerland badge matches 1974 or 1975 per the Slingerland website.

3. Slingerland hihat stand... same shape as one above. The big "S" pedal.

4. Slingerland bass pedal, condition and foot match the HH stand.

5. Two Apollo Toms (70's?)... 12" & 13". Originally blue sparkle, painted black, now covered with a cheap silver wrap.

6. 15" Ludwig marchaing drum, converted (sort of) to a silver floor tom.

7. 10 lug CB 700 chrome 14" snare from the 80's (?), tall stand and case

8. various oddball hardware pieces.

I used to gig with this stuff (not often), and believe it or not... this mess pictured below sounded really good:

What are you looking to get for the bass drum?

That "Speed Pedal" was my first hihat stand. I bought it new, with cymbals in a music store (Middleton Music, N.S) for I recall $30. Even at the time (1968) that was stupid-cheap. The kind where you can't expect it to be any good............. and it wasn't!

I'm not a hard hitter, but I ended up breaking the pedalboard right in half. Never saw anything like it then or since, looked like it was karate-chopped right across the middle.
