Speed King Disassembly....need help

Loading...

From Stallwart

What, you don't like the patented Speed King squeak? It's great fun during slow tempo songs for marking time during drum part pauses.

And all these years I thought I had a mouse living in the kick drum? Toilet

I used Never-Seize and some other brands of the powdered metal / graphite lubes. It works fine. Fel-Pro made a Nickle version and the common number is C5-A with Copper.

Works inside things, designed for high temp. and pressure applications. Not good for slapping around on the external surfaces, graphite can be messy.

But it kept the mice away for awhile?

Yes, I think so too.....polished it is. I am going to bead blast it then put it in the media vibrator for an hour or so, that will take out any little imperfections on the surfaces and then it will be polished to a mirror shine. And I will give you guys a little hint on what else I have planned. It involves billet aluminum a CNC machine and will eliminate all the squeaks and flaws in the original design of the floor connection plate. You guys will be drooling over the finished product. Stay tuned.

So.... how goes it ??

Well.....to each his own......I am going to do what Ludwig should have done years ago......bring the legendary Speed King in to the modern era.

Actually they already did that in the mid 1990's....any pivot surface got nylon bushings....round about the time they went to the black paint was the change....:D
