Does the logo state 'Sonor 1875 - 1975' plus a serial number?
Then it's from the series 'Centennial Phonic', made approx. 1975 - 1977.
Maybe also a 'Phonic' which was built approx. 1977 - 1980.
No idea concerning the wood, sorry.
Ralf
It looks like the 1977-1980 Phonic badge. You can verify the year by an ink stamped date code on the inside of the shell. They are 9 ply beech, very heavy shells and have a 45 degree sharp bearing edge. Modern sounding drum. Very good quality, very tuneable, a fine drumset. Yours is a wrapped version. The veneered drums are higher value drums.
I'm pretty sure they're 9 ply Beechwood. Someone confirm/deny?
edit: oops, just saw the post above..
