Sonor 3007 Maple snare. No, not vintage -- but outstanding! $100

Man, I see these sell pretty cheaply, and it seems they are way underrated. I know the "3007" is a line of entry level kits, and the price is low.

Still ... this sounds like a nice, bright, crisp Maple snare drum to me! I know my ears may not be sophisticated, but still! Maybe it's the change of heads? Upgraded snare wires??

To me, details are the mark of quality drum building. The lugs on this snare are well chromed. And the plastic/nylon washers under the lug heads are IMHO pretty solid.

A really nice snare for a very modest cost. Hey, who couldn't use a Maple snare? Or another Maple snare??

One hundred bucks sound fair? Ten bucks to ship (yes, I WILL lose money ;>) )

I think the Sonor drums in general are excellent -- and this one's sound exceeds its cost!

It really is a surprisingly good snare. All the sounds I've ever expected from Maple. Excellent hardware and consistently good build.

Biased? you bet. I'm selling only to gather $$ to work on some restorations!

And I'd really not have to put it on the block!

Sadly I think this era Sonor is a lot like vintage slingerlands...if you're in the know then you grab them..otherwise people gloss over them.

I gigged the crap out of my snare like this and it was a rock solid great sounding snare every time. If my new kit didn't come with a snare I woulda kept mine.

Right on about Slingerlands! It is always weird to me how cheaply their hardware sells for. The Yellowjacket is so well built, and they're almost given away.

Thanks for the kudos on the snare. I agree about the sound. The only one I really like better (wood) (that I could afford) is another Sonor. Bought it as a trade from Steve Maxwell.
