Something very rare...

It's unfortunate that this pgm protects words that could be abused… it would seem that responsibility would be up to the admins. When I saw the comment referenced I was wtf? Is this meant to be a anti-semitic joke or what? And I suspect the writer of the post didn't mean it that way but the ppm makes it worse.

Is that drum not a Silver anniversary? I know they didn't have the same finish nor the engraving but its the same center bead. Same production year as the Silver anniversary?

Sorry about the delay in getting back to this thread. I have been helping Ambro77 assess this drum and obtain an appraisal so that he knows what he has. It is a Silver Anniversary 6 1/2" x 14" Standard snare drum with engraved black finish (aka Black Beauty) with "Classic Gold" hardware. I have seen and touched the drum. It really is beautiful.

Ambro77 has had this drum for about 30 years where it has mainly been stored in its case. He does not know the history prior to his ownership. Although he knew it was a Black Beauty, he did not realize until recently that it was a particularly rare version of the drum. This has the square center bead and direct threaded imperial lugs (before the springs and inserts were used). Amazingly, none of the lugs is stripped or cross threaded.

For those keeping score, this drum has the same features as the drum that Mike Curotto acquired from Joe Luoma and wrote about in NSMD in 2015. https://www.notsomoderndrummer.com/not-so-modern-drummer/columns/mike-curotto-medium-rare-drums/1935-36-ludwig-ludwig-silver-anniversary-black-beauty

I have many high resolution pictures if you are seriously interested in seeing them.
