I am personally on a quest for the perfect BLT sandwich.

When I find it, I will happily pay $50.00 for it.

This makes as much sense to me as the Beatles fan paying $2100 for that snare did to him. And makes absolutely no sense to others.

Let me preface this by saying that I am a HUGE Beatles and Ringo fan (Pete Best too while we're at it!) as well as a huge Led Zeppelin/John Bonham fan......but I would never.....NEVER!.....pay those rediculous prices to own the same model and finish drums they did. I'd rather buy a NEW Ludwig "replica" (Liverpool 4/Zep set kit thank you) kit that comes with a warranty AND the EXACT SAME SOUND QUALITIES with today's modern hardware than blow rediculous amounts of cash on a vintage kit that is too valuable to actually take out and gig with!

With that said, the couple of vintage kits that I do have, while valuable (not as much as what people pay for a "Ringo" or "Bonzo" kit though) I still do use on gigs on occasion. I watch them like a hawk and I'm the only one that plays them, but still.....

Now as far as $50 for that perfect BLT sandwich......I could see that....as long as it was the ULTIMATE best tasting BLT ever! :D

Now if someone can point me to the ultimate steak and cheese sub sandwich.....:D

Well, buddy. I like the Beatle's later stuff, and I am a Bonham fan.

I have been researching this a bit, actually. So I have noticed, in my studies, that Bonzo's name is wayyyy overused when talking about Ludwig drums, as if he were the only artist to ever use them. "What kind of heads does he use?" "What size sticks does Dave Grohl use?"

Let me go over a theory of mine: people think that if they get all the exact same gear in the same sizes and stuff, then they will sound like their idols. For Zep fans, it's Bonham, for Beatles fans, it's Ringo. These are 2 of the biggest bands that have ever been, so maybe we just notice it more because the bands are so prevalent. Jack White fans always want a red Montgomery Ward's Airline, a Whammy pedal, and a Big Muff. For Nirvana fans, they want a black Tama Artstar kit in huge sizes.

It is all in the hands, fingers, and brain. You could have Jimmy Page play a Johnson guitar through and Ibanez 10 watt practice amp and you could still tell it's him. Same with Billy Gibbons...Jack White.

People think that if they get a Ludwig Vistalite in 26, 14, 16, 18 with a 6.5 Supra then they will sound like Bonzo. He was a damn good drummer, so they will play top dollar for this stuff.

All I can say is for people to practice...have your own signature sound, and then maybe one day, morons will pay top dollar for your style of drums.

I don't know why these snare drum's bring so much money on ebay[2,100.00] it's not a Ringo used snare just the color of it..So i'am thinking what would the snare i have sell for on ebay Ludwig 1965 B.O.P sign by Ringo,I know he did sign it i was standing right next to him when he did..Maybe 21,000.00 or more...Mikey
