Well, Yakety Yak was one of the first tunes I ever played as a kid on my red sparkle Trixons with a couple of neighbourhood friends...so there's that. :)

This video brings back some fond memories for me. In 1965 I played in my first rock concert in a old theatre in Fresno, California. My group (can't remember our name, sorry) was the warmup band. We were followed by the Hondells...anyone here old enough to know them? The third group was the Coasters...who were accompanied by the Hondells. The final group...and the main attraction, were the Knickerbockers. (Guess I'm showing my age, eh?)
I remember as a 14 year old talking with several of the Coasters back stage. Funniest of all, one of the Knickerbockers told me and the lead guitarist in my band to listen to the Beatles if we wanted to keep an edge on most other groups.
What a great experience that concert was...my first taste of real professionalism. The Hondells, Coasters and the knickerbockers all had tight and dynamic performances, something I never forgot and always tried to achieve in my own performances.
I'm impressed, Landofahhs. That's some serious stage-sharing there! What tunes did you do?
