So I started an Ajax/Premier thread last month and...

Two days later guess what I find at...Guitar Center of all places! In the strangest case of random luck in my entire drum lifetime. An Ajax Nu-Sound for about 1/6 the price of the one listed on Reverb that I noted in that thread. The only difference is mine has two floor toms instead of the snare. Spread is a little odd at 20/13/14/16 (and the 14" FT legs are...hi hat rods...) but they sound great and the wrap is clean. And they were here in the U.S. so no shipping from the UK. I was due some good fortune, just didn't know it'd be that quickly!

One thing about these is there's some rattling in one of the lugs. I know they're sensitive (a la Rogers B&Bs) so I'll leave them alone for now, as it only happens at certain tunings. Lady Luck!

That is lovely - rare sizes too!

I used to have one just the same, but in the more usual 20/12/16.

Great find!
