Hey guys,

my buddy Father Time Blessed me with a kick A$$ Stave, and i still need to put it together.

i bought brand new 10 lug 14" snare rims (triple flanged) for the stave, and now i have had a change of heart. (never been used)

i would like to see if anyone would be intrested in trading me for some wooded hoops 10 Lug 14" top and bottom for my stave.

if you can help me let me know.

i also need some lugs.

i will also trade 12 Slingerland NOB clips for some nice tube lugs if anybody has some.

I have vintage 14" wood hoops that take clips. I may have new clips from Precision for them

I have a set of Gibraltar 10 lug Maple of which the top is the Hybrid (wood/metal) hoops & also have a $hitload of tube lugs. I would consider some kind of trade, but I can get a set of new TF hoops for $35 & the top hybrid alone sells for like $80. I have chrome/brass/black chrome tube lugs in various sizes, but again, the trade value of 12 clips is rather low. If you have something interesting other than what you have listed, PM me. What size is your Stave?..I'll check out what tubes I've got in stock that will fit.

I'll also throw in the stick chopper slingy NOB 12 Tom hoops with the clips and rims. That's a lot of stuff the clips are at least 60 to 70 bucks the rims I am not for sure and the other snare rims are at least 40 to 55

If I could maple hoops and tube lugs snd maybe a throw and butt plate that would be cool. But I'll anything with good quality to get this snare together.

I'll get the hole measurements for the lugs.

Show me a pic of your shell & I'll see what I can do to help you out. Is it already drilled for lugs? I've got a lot of parts here & would be glad to help you get something together. Are the Stick Choppers you've got stamped or clean, also what kind of throw are you looking for?...if you're going retro with the shell I know of a dealer that recently developed a retro looking 3-point that is killer. You can PM me if you want to continue this off-thread.

Just askin' here (not criticizing) but why do they drill the lugs right on the glue joints of the snare shell? To me, it would be logical to drill in the center of the sections of wood and not on the glue joint as I wouldn't want the lugs being pulled, by the heads, "into" the seams.

2 reasons. The glue is stronger than the wood and the placment helps hide the seam.

Hey Status,.

You need to clear your box of messages.. . . Are you referring to the 40's small clips for the wood hoops??? The pre-war Slingys were usually the baby beavertail lugs followed by the rolling bombers wooden lugs. SAME CLIPS THOUGH. If so I NEED SOME and I did not see them on the precision site????

Let me know. . . . Joe

now that i look at the stave in a picture, i cant believe how cool it looks. cant wait to get this thing up and running.

i know its not vintage, but damn that sucker is cool.

James has some other staves that he has built, and a while back we crossed the line, and compaired them to a couple of vintage snares we both have and, let me tell you, wow i was impressed. that damn snare blew my mind.
