Good Day,
I am completing a restoration of a Gretsch 4108 aluminum snare. Does anyone have any first hand experience with replacement tension rods? I'm looking for the highest quality possible.
Thanks in Advance,

You have some choices. You can look for vintage Gretsch tension rods on eBay. If that doesn't pan out, you can still consider good vintage rods from Ludwig, Rogers or Slingerland. They all made excellent rods from the 60's and most of the 70's. Other than that, another good choice would be Pearl's stainless steel tension rods. Excellent rods...but expensive. Retail price is about $6 each! I see them up for sale on eBay often, usually for very good prices. You can always use today's very common tension rods. However, I have a feeling you want something vintage! Hope this info helps.
