Looking for the tensioning knob for a slingerland zoomatic strainer. I think I have the rest. Trying to refurb a 69s Krupa SK. Thanks.

Hard to find just the knob.. Some guys have used guitar vol knobs etc. There is somebody at the Slingerland FB page who has a couple of complete strainers for sale... don't know about pricing though.

Cheers

Like longjohn said, the knob is almost impossible to find. Even if you were to find one, it's most likely worn and won't stay on. I've had luck in the past installing Slingerland tone control knobs onto the shaft. You do have to slightly enlarge the hole, with a drill bit, to get the knob on the shaft. I don't recall what size bit, though. Once tapped on, it's there for good! I purchased a Gene Krupa Sound King that came with the guitar volume knob. Actually looks really cool, with a pearl inlay on top!

Here's a nice Zoomatic that just came up for sale on eBay. Great condition!

Thanks everyone. I wondered about using a tone control/muffler knob. There is one on ebay right now for 25 bucks. Does seem they are hard to come by. Someone just sold a lot of FOUR earlier this month. Figures.
