Snare side has beveled areas under the skin in the wood, not sure what this was used for, looks like it was done at factory, to even for someone to do a job that good, I put foam under skin to tighten bottom skin up otherwise it has mass wrinkles that will not stretch out at points of strainer on each side. THX

Are you referring to the snare beds?
If so, have a look at this. The 3rd paragraph mentions specifically the issue you describe.
