SlingerLeedy in black sparkle?

Loading...

So I have this orphan 20” SlingerLeedy black sparkle BD that I only have because the same guy had a 22” Slingerland in black sparkle that like an idiot, I bought before looking at ALL the pics of it. It was only after my idiotic self paid for it that I noticed that the right side of the wrap looked like a window that had a rock thrown through it. The same fella had this ultra-clean black sparkle Slingerleedy 20. I don’t normally have a use for 20’s but since it was my screwup and I did NOT want the 22 after all, I just asked the fella to send me the 20 so then everybody won, more or less.

So here I am with this 20, figuring I’d try to build a kit around it. Turns out that wrap seems rare in that I’ve not seen any other drums in it. WTH to do? What do you folks think?

Hello

Where are you located?

Will definitely need to see pictures no matter what website you are on so if you plan on selling it's time to brush up your skills!

Looking forward to seeing the drum.

Thanks

Is the wrap a sparkling black like a red sparkle or blue sparkle? Or is it solid black with little sprinkles of silver or gold or lavender flakes like this?

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

In between the sparkles, it looks black. The sparkles themselves have a purple cast to them.

Your answer does not give us a real idea of what the finish is. Do the sparkles cover the ENTIRE black background? Or are there occasional little sparkling flecks on the shiny black as in the close-up picture that I posted? Without you exercising a tiny bit of patience to post a picture, don't expect much help from the group.

Here are two versions of Black Sparkle (click on pictures to enlarge). http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/drcjw/article_4_finishes15.htm# The first version is most likely.

Yep, a little patience is never a bad thing.

Now that I’ve played my gig, dealt with my dog puking all night, then finally got some sleep, I can go through 5 stacks of bass drum cases, 4-high each, and get a pic. If this process is taking a little

too long for your satisfaction, then please just move along.
