Slingerland Tom Help

Loading...

Hi all!

I purchased a 22" Rogers bass drum a while back and two Slingerland toms came along with it - one 13" tom and the other a 16" floor tom. I found the correct matching Rogers tom & floor tom, so I don't need the Slingy's anymore. The floor tom I was able to sell rather quickly, but I need a little more info on the 13" tom.

It has Rogers tallboy hoops on it which I plan on keeping - I am looking for stick saver hoops to complete the drum so I can properly sell it.

There is no grommet or badge on the drum, and I cannot find a date stamp inside of the shell. The drum was disguised as a Rogers, so a Rogers badge was installed (I have removed it) and a Swivomatic mount was drilled over the original diamond plate mount. Edges are in good shape and the interior is a dark brown. The wrap has scratches and is lifting at the seam a bit. The chrome on the lugs are all in good shape minus a few in which the chrome has peeled off.

When is this from? No badge/grommet made me think early 60's, but I have no clue about dating Slingerlands.

I'm not trying to make a huge profit off of the drum, but what is a fair selling price for it? A quick search on Reverb and eBay has similar drums listed anywhere from $75 to $250. I was thinking of listing it around $175 once I get the right hoops for it.

Thoughts? Thank you for your help in advance, Happy New Year!

Luke

Here are a few more pictures. This picture includes the shell after I removed the Rogers badge.

Late 50's to very early 60's ('58-'61). Extra holes and interior ply damage will negatively affect value.

Very cool! Thank you for the information, slingerfan. The extra holes and condition of it obviously won’t positively impact value, it’s a good project drum. Is there a price range you could suggest the drum is worth?
