Slingerland Set O Matic pressure clamp/plate

Loading...

Hi folks,

I'm looking for a pressure clamp/plate to finish off my diamond tom mount, but also wondered whether Slingerland ever offered a similar pressure clamp to fit the bass mount?

Thanks in advance for any help,

James

Yep, here's the badger - http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=16035&d=1272664683

I don't think Slingerland made a bass plate/clamp, so may have to improvise something.

I still need one or two for toms though.

I haven't seen a bottom diamond plate on a S-O-M Slingerland bass drum mount. Just these 2 washers and then a 6 pt nut and small washer (not shown) on each of the 4 mount bolts. The larger flat washer is 1.5" and the smaller embossed star type 1.0" even. I've had both 1st and 2nd gen Setomatic mounts. I beleive the smaller tom mounts used the same washer setup. Ones I have do anyway. Consolette clip tom mounts had the plate that I've seen.

These are the Setomatic "bits" that sit inside the tom mounts and clamp against the post. If you can't find one they are easy to make..

Cheers

I've had this part sitting in my parts bin for a while. I think it goes inside the plate?

maybe not though, anyone?

Yes , used in conjunction with the inner sleeve thing as above.. usually a copper color though, & drilled/tapped only at one end.. yours looks like a retro fabrication.. Have attached pic.. excuse the quality, getting dark down here..

Cheers

Thanks. May have to go down the DIY route if nothing comes up.

I had some custom "tangs" made by a friend who owns a machine shop, which allowed me to modify quite a few Slingerland Setomatic bass drum brackets. Slingerland never did design the bracket to use this part. Sure would have saved all those down posts from looking like swiss cheese! Had to do allot of filing to get the tang to work in the bracket, but once installed, they prevented the T bolt from ruining the post.

For my recent Slingerland "Modern Solo" acquisition, in stunning Sparkling Purple Pearl, I used an actual tang from a tom bracket. Had to file the bass bracket even more to get it to work, but it did work!
