Slingerland "Jam Session" Kit

Loading...

Just picked this up this evening (part of a larger load).

Slingerland "Jam Session" set. 14x20 (serial # 101258) and 8x12 (serial # 101073) in White Tiger Pearl. Both are date stamped Aug. 66, clear interiors. Also have the original snare drum stand (catalog No. 802). No snare drum, however, and it's also missing one BD spur, the top part of the BD mounted cymbal stand, and about half of the inlay strips on the BD hoops. Wrap is in EXCELLENT condition, and no rust or pitting on any of the chrome.

Will be fixin' this one up!

UPDATE:

Silly me! Or, maybe it's REALLY lucky me!

Included in this lot was a pile of misc hardware. EVERYTHING hardware related that I was missing (mentioned in the original post) except one washer was there all the time!

And, I've found and purchased inlay strips!

So... I'll begin detailing this evening...

AFTER minor repairs and cleanup!

It got new (used) heads on the 8x12, and a brand new Evans head on the kick side of the 14x20. Added a refurbed 5x14 8-lug Slingerland snare drum (which was severly damaged and brought back from the dead!). Front head on the BD is original, just cleaned up...

BTW, I was wrong on the wrap. It's not WTP, but GREY AGATE.

I wish the ones I picked up 2 years ago were as nice, but for $50 they are not... 1966 Gold Sparkle with missing EVERYTHING-spurs, front T-rods and hoop, bottom rim and rods for the 12",no badges, the wrong tom mount and painted black with a spray can 30 years ago. Just finished stripping the BD tonight and it's not pretty. A real "back from the dead" job.
