Slingerland Drums

Loading...

Hey folk, haven't been on the forum in forever, lots has changed.

Anyways, I unfortunatley have to sell this slingerland kit that I bought from Lucky here on the forum a while ago.

This set was by far the greatest jazz/R&B/Hip Hop kit I have ever played on.

Excellent response, resonance, tone, and punch.

When Lucky offered it up, I believe he was only asking 800$ for the whole kit, but he sold it to me for 700. I'm only asking the same price for the kit, extra for the hardware and cymbals.

The Config;

20x14

12x8

14x14

14x5 (I think? It's the jazz size, full bodied, but not too big)

So 700$ takes the kit, 1000$ for everything else.

1 Set of 14" Canadian Zildjian Hats (quick beat style with the holes in the bottom)

1 20" Zildjian Ride A series, 60's era. Super dark, thin, and jazzy.

PDP hat stand, DW 7000 Double pedal, Yamaha Snare Stands (2) and a PDP cymbal stand.

Everything is there in the craigslist page.

The only thing I've done since i got it is cleaned/sanded the interiors, taken every single piece apart, cleaned and polished it, and Replaced heads with ambassadors. The fiberskyns for toms are included.

PM for deets.

I'm really sorry Lucky! They were so good to me! We recorded with them, played live, and with new heads they sounded sooooooo good. I seriously really HATE selling them. I have to though because of cost for college, i'm off to study recording in california. :) I want them to go to the right person. Solid piece of history here folks!

How's the WMP kit treating you latley?

Hey man, it is what it is, they are yours. I am saying that with a bit of sellers remorse. They are a great set of drums, don't take anything less than what you are asking!

I am unable to make out (bruised lip) how that wing Tom is mounted. Also, what was the wrap color prior to it aging so nicely into the copper hue? Is that a glass wrap? Lastly, is there any uneven fade or any splotchiness to the sparkle?

Well, there's a couple of Q's for ya. Thanks, and I look forward to the replies.

Prior to the copper hue was "champagne sparkle" I would actually go as far as to say that it is a nice salmon now. There is slight uneven fading under the bass drum I.E. more color, fading to the top. The tom is mounted on a snare stand, the original mount was replaced with a ludwig consolette. (sp?)

I took it off to give it the "virgin" appearance, but it is included with the kit.

As far as it being a "glass" or "sparkle'' wrap, yes it is. The blotchiness in the wrap is not much, but there is a small black spot by the rail cymbal mount on the bass drum.

And yes, peter, no less than 700! this kit is a piece of history, it needs respect! it has been cleaned and polished to the utmost detail, and the heads have been replaced with ambassadors. Excellent for recording.

If I may correct you, that kit is not or ever was champagne sparkle, it is PINK! Sparkling Pink Pearl as Slingerland called it!
