Slingerland Drum Set. BR configuration.

Loading...

Slingerland 5 piece drum set, circa '70's from the Niles Factory in Illinois.

- Black finish. All correct "Buddy Rich" sizes: 24x14 bass (2 sets of spurs. That's 4 total), plus, 2 Slingerland L-arm cymbal mounts for ride and splash cymbals...9x13 rack tom, 2-16" floor toms, (plus all 6 fl. tom legs), 14x5.5 matching snare, PLUS... Matching Slingerland canister throne (hollow- open bottom). New seat with chrome inlay hoop on bottom. Approx. 24" high.

-I also have two (2) BR Slingy cymbal stands as well as the two (2) L arms that would go with this which I would be willing to throw in as well as a Slingy BR hi hat stand with correct clutch that works great. (not pictured)

-Wood shells from that era. No cracks or splits. Everything is in round, no beveling issues.

-Chrome, excellent. All chrome hoops original (as far as I know). Stick-saver hoops.

-Some minor light scratches and scuffs. Typical for a set this age.

-Hoops very good. No pedal rash ( but small indentation) on batter side hoop bottom. Chrome inlays.

-Set-O-Matic single tom holder.

-All mounts, screws, bolts accounted for. Nothing missing.

Please use this link to view pix. For some reason the system here would not let me upload any. (Probably me!) :>)

I'd be willing to take $2,000. plus $300.00 for shipping and insurance.

Thanks for looking!

Very nice looking kit. Even has the Buddy throne. Cool. Black's not the most desirable wrap for a Buddy kit, but this does look pretty nice.

I'm not sure you'll get that amount, but it is a nice kit. Do you have the Buddy set of hardware stands? That would be something worth considering to really make this more attractive at that price point. Just a thought.

Hi Wayne and Mc...

Thank you for the nice comments. As you can see, some people dig the black, some don't necessarily. It's all a matter of personal preference. I also have a Slingy BR 80n kit that is the exact same sizes and configuration (including canister throne but a later model), that is in WMP.

Yes, I do have the correct hardware: Slingy cymbal stands with the BR legs as well as the same L arms.(Ride and splash)

Thanks guys for the comments! :>)

Felt compelled to clarify:

I never said I didn't like the Black finish on that kit. What I said was, as far as Buddy kits go, Black would not be high on the desire list. There's a distinct difference there that needs to be understood.

As for the hardware - man, if you put the entire kit together ... sweeeet!

Hi mc...

Per your good suggestion, I also added to the ad for the kit, the Slingy BR cymbal stands. I also have a matching BR Slingy hi-hat stand that's in great shape as well that i would throw in. The only hardware I don't have is the BR snare stand.

Thanks for the suggestion...

Hey, I'm watching that auction. It's still a bit low, but it's got another three and a half hours to go. A lot can happen in that time. It's worth more than the current 500 bid. Dang. These are GREAT sounding kits, and this one's complete. We are pulling for you.

Thanks MC!!

I appreciate you guys and all the advice. We'll see what happens. It's one of those, "I really don't want to sell it" kind of things. Part of me doesn't "really" want it to sell. :>) Been getting loads of questions on it though. Yes, out of all the Slingerland kits i have and have had, this plus two others that i currently have are hands down the best sounding kits I've ever owned. This kit just really SHAKES the room when you play 'em. My issue is that it's "too much drum" for the 4 piece jazz gig i'm currently doing. Although my Gretsch equipment is right up there as well, but as we know, that's a different sound just like the Rogers kits from the '70's are "different." It's like eating at your favorite retaurants: You like different restaurants for different kinds of food, but they're all good!

Hi all...

Well, the kit didn't go the distance on Ebay. Highest bid was $810. I may relist but here's a new offer... Along with the listed Slingerland BR kit here as well as the hardware i just through in, i'll now include the hard shell fiber cases that come with the kit as well as a fiber case that goes with the canister throne.... Interest? :>)
