Very unique wrap which i`ve never seen before and looks great.Would these be from the early 70`s? Colour doesn`t look to have faded at all judging from the second pic.

I think denim was in the late 70's by the catalogs.... the same time frame for the Aztec wraps.....none too popular but very appealing to my eyes.....
I fell into a deal on these....would Love to have some denims too!!

Yes, I think they came out in 77 or 78. The story I hear is that Ludwig was beating them to death in sales because Slingerland was labeled a "Jazz" brand and with the Denim kit they tried to lure the rock drummers over but either nobody bought them or they stripped the denim off.
This kit was from a collector who bought it new and it sat in his house ever since. The wrap is in excellent shape. No fade, no snare rash. I'm definitely going to play these out but I'm trying to be a bit careful to preserve them for the next generation.

I would love to find one of the Aztecs!
Again, I love these drums. Gotta give Slingerland credit for trying something different.
Does anyone know the source of the denim at the time? I'd laugh if it was Levi's or Sasson.
