I thought I posted this, but it is not here SO-
I have a Slingerland snare drum that I have rebuilt into a beautiful looking AND sounding drum. This is a player's drum, not a collector's. Please read:
1. Slingerland COB shell in EXCELLENT shape - originally used a zoomatic strainer. Possibly a Krups drum.
2. all new lugs - Slingerland reproductions with gaskets to avoid bending the shell.
3. Copper (plated?) stick saver lugs. (I have been told these are rare Slingerland hoops - I don't know). I also have COS Sticksaver hoops if so desired.
4. New Aquarian heads - Clear Classic on bottom - texture coated on top
5. Has a 1962 badge - but it is not the original badge. I did not put this badge on the shell - it is an infamnia to do so.
6. BEST PART - Custom mounted TDR strainer system! - This was mounted perfectly. I believe the TDR strainer was the best strainer Slingerland ever made. It has the function of the original Radio King with gates, but is nearly indestructible. I own 4 drums with TDR stainers and they are all great sounding drums!
7. At present - Puresound snare wires - extended Radio king style so that only the wires touch the head - not the end tabs. I am going to order some PEarl snare wires that I have been told are the only wires made today that are comprable to the original slingerland TDR snare wires.
I am listing the drum at $325. MONEY BACK IF NOT SATISFIED! Here are a couple pics. I will post a sound file (hopefully)and more pics on my website:
