Did Slingerland have two choices of blue sparkle in the 60's, 70's?

At one point they used a much darker version than you typically see but I don't recall the two versions beibg offered at the same time. They were both considered to be sparkling blue pearl.

Lots of variation in this finish including variances during a particular era and aging. Check out this informative article by DrCJW over at the VDG. http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/drcjw/article_4_finishes1.html

Wow seven variations of the sparkling blue pearl over the years. The two I was referring to was the 1970 and purple versions. Also what I thought was an aqua sparkle turns out to also be a sparkling blue pearl. Thanks fellas!

My 70's rock kit is Silver sparkle with a wide band of Blue sparkle around the centre of each drum.

The blue sparkle looks identical under normal lighting...

But under a black light, just one tom (13x9), reacts with an eerie glow. (Batch variation)..

Cheers

John
