Slingerland BD questions...3" lugs?

Hi there, new member here! I'm stepping into the world of vintage drums with a Slingerland bass drum I'm going to restore:

So the lug hole spacing is 3". I can't find 3" lugs anywhere online, was this a standard Slingerland size? Most the vintage lugs I've found are all 2 1/4" on center. For a moment I wondered if this had marching style lugs on it, but you can clearly see the outline of what appears to have been Streamline lugs:

Does anyone have ideas on where I can find lugs? Obviously original lugs would be preferable, but I don't have a problem with repros.

This isn't the original finish is it?

I have a old Slingerland Radio King bass drum with 3" span on lug holes. It's the older "Streamline" lug design. Looks like yours maybe had the same thing. The exterior ply looks maple (hard to tell from the pic) if so your drum had a duco or painted finish possibly. I see them on ebay every so often. They would look like the ones on this bass drum.......

thanks, Glenn. The shell was sold to me as a Radio King--I was just a bit nervous that that was a misrepresentation. Nice to have confirmation that there were in fact Radio Kings with 3" lugs.

I suppose I'll start trolling eBay for those lugs, although everything I can find is 2 1/4" oc.

The large ones are out there. I got 12 for like $60 or something a bit ago. There are always over priced ones on eBay...but just wait till you find a good deal on some.

I'm probably going to end up putting Keller hoops on this...does anybody know the proper hoop width to match the original? Looks like Precision carries widths from 1.5"-4".

The hoops on mine are 1.5" wide. One thing with the narrow hoops is your bass pedal linkage might rub on the head. So keep that in mind for the batter side. Hopefully some members with more knowledge here will chime in for you.

I have an early 1950's Radio King kit. The 24" bass drum hoops measure 1-9/16". My later model measures 1-1/2". Gerald.
