I have a Slingerland, white marine pearl, 24 bass drum. Double lugs (10 per side), 16"x24."

No spurs--the drum was originally a concert bass drum in a middle school.

I checked the VDF badge gallery, and this one's badge matches "all brass oval, 1955-1959." DrCJW identifies it as "1953-56, Stamped Brass Chicago...Laquered stamped brass with raised lettering, "reverse dogtag." He says it could (if it was manufactured as a marching drum, which I don't know, though there is no carrying hardware anywhere), have been made as late as 1959.

It's in fair shape, meaning nothing on it is broken or cracked--it still functions well as a musical instrument. Obviously the pearl is yellowed somewhat. It looks more off-white than yellow. There is some erosion of the chrome, some pitting on the lugs here and there, and some minor rust on the t-handles and claws. The hoop has scratches and some minor pits and gouges, but mostly just some worn away paint in spots, particularly where a kick pedal was attached. Obviously it needs some cleanup, but I don't want to mess with anything that might adversely affect the value of it.

The interior finish is natural--no visible finish.

Any guesstimate as to the value of this object? Ballpark is fine.
