Slingerland 8 lug snare question Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Loading...

I have located a Duco finish, what appears to be a late 50s Slingerland, RK snare drum (8 lug) for a low price.. priced low for any snare drum. It looks to be in nice condition with new heads, but what appear to be original snares. Black/Gold badge with no serial number.

Thoughts on this drum? I assume this to be an excellent buy!

Ok, I found that it is a black/gold Chicago badge which looks to put it between '56-'59 by the drum guide site. So far in the photos the throw off looks to be missing the top of the extension arm but seller says it is still functional. I can't wait to pick it up today! I'll post photos when I get it.

Here's photos:

After research I find this to be the student model RK which seems to be about a $300 snare drum. If so, I did really good on the find.

I see it looks to be missing that piece in the photo. I don't have one at this time.

From Brewkowski

I see it looks to be missing that piece in the photo. I don't have one at this time.

If you paid the stated price, It won't leave any room as a flip. But as an addition to your snare collection it is good, the 3 point arm and tension knob aren't cheap. Place an ad in wanted for those parts.

I love mine. I recently scored one in red sparkle for $100. Your Duco finish is great.

It's my most dynamic snare. I can play softly on it.
