Slingerland 6X14 Black Chrome over wood SD

Loading...

I have a Slingerland SD Serial #337091.

If cleaned up what should be the bottom line price.

Not sure of much about the drum. I am on the fence as far as buying the drum. It needs cleaning and care.

Thanks a million .

Since I'm apparently answering first, I'll say what anyone else here would say: We need to see photos.

Since it's blackrome, we know it's from roughly 1977-79. How many plies is the shell: Five plies or three plies with reinforcement rings? How many lugs: 8, 10, or 12? TDR or Zoomatic snare mechanism?

I bought a blackrome 6.5 10-lug 5-ply TDR several years ago for $250. Some might say I overpaid, but it was in excellent mechanical shape and pretty good visual shape and I wanted it, so I feel the price was fair. Your mileage will vary, but ultimately it doesn't matter what other people think.

Blackrome is a fragile finish and requires care in handling. There's not much that can be done for it once it has started to rust. Good luck.
