Slingerland 2-to-1 COB Snare Drum

Loading...

Any Slingy experts out there happen to know whether the company's "2-to-1" model COB snare drums are considered collectible drums? I don't see many of them out there so I'm not sure whether there's an actual interest in them. I'd also like to know what might be considered fair market value for one in extremely sound condition, both cosmetically and functionally.

As usual, thanks in advance for your time and your help!

I would certainly say they are collectible in that there just weren't many produced, let alone sold! It was a really poor design! I would imagine that the scarcity would put the value at $300+ if it's in VG+ condition. I'll check my pictures and see if I have any that sold on the Bay and for what price.

Ok... found only two 2-to-1 snare drums in the hundreds of Slingerland pictures I have! Both were COW (chrome-over-wood) and in fairly nice condition. The first one pictured sold 3-7-10 for $299.00 and the second one, with nylon snares, sold 3-19-08 for $405. Hope these prices help you out!

The 2-to-1 that I saw was COB and sold for $400. It didn't really do it for me when I played it, but it was definitely a "holy moley, what is THAT?!?!?!?" moment when I first saw it.

The 2-to-1 design is highly collectable. Pretty rare to see them offered.

Rare snare's to fine.Slingerland made them both way C.O.W and C.O.B...You will see more wood shells than metal one's..Infact i have only seem one C.O.B. shell...Just a side note i made one at O.C.D.P. in 1992 out of a Rogers 9x13 5 Ply with rings maple shell. The shell was N.O.S. one of m,any i had at the time..8 lugs on top 6 on bottom-the lugs were 60's Sonor..I did the lugs in Blue and wrap the shell is Yellow nick named the drum the "K-Tel" snare...Mikey
