Yes - that's right. I did that on some of my Istanbul Agops on my Renown kit. It worked not bad, but I ended up buying a Mel Lewis 21 Sizzle ride...nice cymbal.
I prefer the Mehmet version to the Agop version....both nice sounding cymbals though.....
If you are looking for the old K type rivets, try Istanbul Agop.....same type of rivets used in the Mel Lewis models....

Thanks - I may look at them - or even try to round up some nice old 40 or 50 yr old rivets. I got my rivets (the free ones) from Zildjian today. I won't put them in until I compare a few types.
