sizzle hi-hat post

That post got me thinking. In the latest 2 bands I have played in ,I am forced to hit the hi-hat with the tip rather than the fat part of the stick,.I dont want to be to loud so I use the tip,and hit "softly"I was thinking of getting a ching ring but certain songs would not need that sound.

MY QUESTION : is there a ching ring or anything for that matter that can be turned off ,silenced for mellow songs and ON for the rip roarin songs??

Many Thanks,Vati

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
