I sell on Ebay (Mostly parts. I haven't sold a set there in a LOOOONG time). Yesterday I had a request to ship a $50 5x14 Ludwig Supersensitive shell to France. The shipping is $78.00!!!! A 16x16x6 box that weights 3 pounds! The shipping for a 24x24x18 box with a bass drum shell that Im selling for $50 is $67.00! The shipping ends up being more expensive than the item itself! I don't know you guys but sometimes I find cool stuff on different places but the shipping costs kills the deal for me…Are you people experiencing the same dilemma?

That's the main reason I haven't been selling on Ebay, Shipping is just plain NUTS!

Well I suppose if I'm desperate beyond all to have that item I will lay out for shipping. But I guess you can still do eBay for local pickup only.

Find recently the most affordable shipping is Greyhound. Requires drop off and pickup at station though. Recent 18x18x19 box was $20 cheaper than FedEx so might be worth the extra effort for buyer.

There seems to be a much better and diverse selection of vintage Premier kits in the UK but shipping is of course the killer for any US buyer.

And vice versa, trying to buy any drum from America is just very expensive, where otherwise You might have been able to buy something.

You should try being here in New Zealand - man, it's painful! You can add another NZ$120 to a snare drum from the US and trust me, it takes as long to earn a NZ$ as it does to earn a US$!

Most definitely. In my opinion, shipping fees, ebay seller fees and ebay shipping fee percentages are all causing the devaluation of goods.

I recently shipped a 23X23X16 box to jccabinets. It was exactly the largest box they can ship at a certain rate. 3 drum shells Mass. to Il.-$33. What surprises me is shipping to Canada from the U.S. It stinks...

Simple, don't ship overseas. I've shipped a few kits and the shipping fees were crazy high, not to mention all the paperwork, never again.
