Hi everyone,
I'm thinking Of sound blasting my black LP rock cowbell and after that I'll maybe chrome it, because I don't like the black paint on it?
Will the pitch of my cowbell change after the treathments?
Is it a good idea to chrome the cowbell?

The cost of chrome plating it will be more than what it's worth. You could probably buy 10 chrome cowbells for the cost of plating the 1.

Both sandblasting and/or chroming will both alter the sound.
Blasting will stress relive the steel and likely deaden the sound quite a bit- like wrapping it with duct tape.
Chroming (without blasting) will probably make the pitch higher as the overall thickness will be thicker and possibly increase sustain a bit.
As others have said, you will be better off leaving that one alone (or selling it) and finding another one to replace it.

Umm yeah why bother? All the latin perc companies do a line in chrome CB's. Go and find the one you really want, and sell the black one.

sand blasting will peen the surface and basically stretch or expand it, so more than likely will alter its sound, but being a piece of none tunable percussion i don't think it would be a lot different and might inhance its sound as well as look cool, so have a crack and pimp your bell.
