'S' Cymbal ID

Loading...

Hey guys; Just spent too much for a MIJ snare to match a kit I'm restoring, but part of the deal was a couple of old 18" cymbals. One is a Zyn, Super, which frankly I'm not overly impressed with, (trashy) but the other one seems to only have an 'S', (about 1/4" high) stamped into the metal. Unfortunately it has a slight keyhole, and a small crack at the bell, but to me it sounds considerably better than the Zyn. Any idea on what it might be? Probably not worth much with the crack, but I could probably include it with a resale kit package. Any help is always appreciated.

That's an A Zildjian that was found to have a minor flaw at the factory, and was sold as a "Second".

Cool! Thanks mlvibes. No wonder it sounded better than the Zyn.

I had just taken a picture of one of my cymbols that had an unusual S on it. It is a 22", very heavy. I really liked the sound of it and knew it was not a crap cymbal. Thanks Daddynowhere and Mlvibes.
