Rogers strainer knob

Need one for either a Dynasonic or Powertone early 70s snare. I recently bought a 5 line Dynasonic that is missing it but it doesn't have the D stamp so I figure a Powertone knob may also work. Is there anything else out there that could work in it's place?

Also just bought a complete Dynasonic stamped D strainer off eBay from the same era and I was surprised that the two strainers do not have interchangeable parts even though they look exactly alike except for the D stamp - could this be true?

Just picked up a muffler since I heard the knobs and rods are interchangeable right?

A snare frame would also be nice, thanks.

The only real difference between the two elongated Swivomatic throw offs should be the slot cut in the slide plate. A D stamp has a slightly deeper slot end to better lock into the engaged position. The faceplate, mounting plate, and lever are the same. I used a dampener knob shaft to replace one that was missing. The two parts are very similar. You would need to clean up the thread end of the shaft, since they were peened to prevent unscrewing from the dampener lock nut after assembly on the drum.

As always thanks again John for your keen insight. Will I also need a spring and lock nut if I use the dampener knob shaft?

Interchange the shaft with knob replacing the Throw off part. Use all of the throw off parts on the new shaft. You will then have a dampener minus the knob shaft.

I have a couple of dynas and a friend has three. Not a single one has the "d" stamp. And I'm pretty sure they never were messed with. Why would this be like this? I personally don't think every Dyna came with this special "D" plate.

D stamp depends on serial number. Gone by the early 70s.
