I finally got theses two kits I purchased during the pandemic home to Canada from NY.Both are in great shape and the Gretsch kit will now be my main kit.My question is are the Rogers something a collector would like to have or should I just keep them as a spare and for the smaller 14 floor tom?20, 14, 12, 12 and matching snare.Bass and toms are Holidays, snare is a Tower model which I am not familiar with. But the snare sounds fantastic I must say as do all the others. Thanks for any info or help.
Beautiful drums in a highly desirable finish.
Based on the bat wing T rods I'm going to guess that this is a Londoner outfit and not a Top Hat ?
Either way its a wonderful piece.
That 14x14 alone would bring large dollars.
The Tower snare drum is a model entered the snare drum roster around 1961
It was an 8 lug offering much like the Holiday snare drum (eventually the Powertone in63)
The only difference would be the strainer and the fact that the Tower did not come standard with a tone control... though for an extra $3.75 one could be added upon ordering.
The Tower first came equipped with a 4 point Universal strainer... then soon after had a Premier Olympic strainer ... it would eventually have a Rogers Sta-Tite strainer.
I've also seen a few with the Bantam strainer.
The Tower is one of my absolute favorite Rogers snare drum offerings.
it looks like your has a tone control and a Sta-Tite strainer.
I'd love to see the interior tags when you have some time.
this is a wonderful piece and I recommend keeping it or selling it to someone who understands what they are getting.
