Rogers Holiday project

Loading...

First post! I found a 2 piece 1967 Rogers Holiday set at my local Sam Ash--20" and 12". They were dirty and had old Rogers heads on them still, but they were cheap and cleaned up nice. I bought a mid 70's Holiday 16" floor tom to strip and rewrap to match the kit. Here's my process.

I'm pretty sure the click is speeding up.

Very Nice, and welcome to the Rogers Club!!! Dayton tags, speckled paint on the two piece I presume?

So what's the significance of the baseball bat? You clubbed your last set of drums??? ;^)

That will never happen with a Rogers set.

Ha! The bat doesn't make much sense by itself, does it? I could turn the shell on it while applying contact cement. I play in a wood bat league, so I end up with cracked bats from time to time. Finally got to put one to good use.

That's right, Dayton tags. I'm from Ohio, too. Ohio pride, baby.

Beautiful! Where'd you get the Silver Glass wrap for the FT? It looks darn close to the original Rogers wrap.

and where did the swivo mount go that was on the 12" tom? It's missing in the "after" picture.

Thanks! The wrap is glass glitter from Precision Drum. They really nailed the ginger ale kind of tint in the Rogers silver... I pulled the hardware off because the mount really choked the life out of the drum. I put the Gauger snare stand hardware on it, but that made it ring too much. I put the swivo mount back on and it's sitting in a regulars snare stand now.
