Rogers Holiday Kit - Help Needed

Loading...

Hi.

I'm thinking of selling my Rogers Holiday kit which I have had for a number of year, but have no idea as to what I should ask for it. Here is what I have figured out about the kit as well as a couple of pictures.

Kit consists of:

14" Snare

13" Tom

16" Floor Tom

20" Bass

Along with a 16" crash cymbal and a 14" hi-hat. The labels inside the drums indicate that they were manufactured in Dayton, Ohio, and therefore from other helpful posts in this forum, they should have been made some time between 1965 and '67.

The tom stand strutting from the bass drum is the original Rogers swiv-o-matic stand, while the bass pedal along with the cymbal and snare stands are Pearl of the same year.

I have been told that this exact kit had been previously owned by a drummer for the Beatles (not Ringo, however) although I have no proof to back this up.

Here are some images of the main kit:

Any help would be fantastic. Just let me know if I've missed out any details.

Thanks.

I'm interested, if you could let me know how much you are looking to get maybe we can work something out.. Let me know!

Also, the original drummer for the Beatles was Pete Best, but I don't think he would've played Rogers, I think someone may have said that because of the oyster pearl finish on the drums.. Ringo got the same finish when he got his ludwig kit coming to the USA in '64. So, if the drums were in fact made around '65-67' then a pre-Ringo Beatle drummer wouldn't have been able to get them.

Well I really don't know what to ask for in the way of a price. What would you offer? Bear in mind that I live in Australia, and assuming you live in the US, shipping could be difficult.

Also, the kit was apparently owned by Pete Best after his Beatles career.

Ah, yeah shipping way over here might be too much to handle. But my thing isn't really Rogers drums, so I don't know how much I'd offer. Definitely check out the holidays selling on ebay, I've seen some around the 900$-1400$ I believe, depending on the condition and matching (serials/the rogers paper badges) of course. Good luck! They look good.

You might actually want to keep them, I know some guys that swear by the Rogers sound.
